I grew up a major Rush fan. I can't explain why Rush music spoke to me, I mean Geddy Lee doesn't have the best voice, but it was not about the lyrics for me, rather it was the musicality of the songs. Rush was the epitome of the power trio. They are truly virtuosos of the progressive rock genre. I'll always remember Geddy's introduction to his drum solo on the album "All the World's a Stage." It went like this: "Ladies and Gentlemen, the Professor on the Drum Kit." RIP Neil.
