There is a lot to this story that I find interesting. For sixty-three years this school took money and support from the SBC, but when the SBC wanted to see a return to the baptist theology that the school was founded on, the school says, no more!
Though the school says it is about academic freedom, it is really about theological liberalism. It is an old story that has happened to other denominations as well. Princeton, Yale, Harvard were all started as training schools for preachers. Of course they have moved far awau from those roots, and are mostly embarrased by them. My how the mighty have fallen.
